com) a division of SourceNet Global has THREE immediate openings for a Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Athletic Trainer (ATC), & Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) for the Optimizing Human Weapon Systems (OHWS) Program at Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base supporting 173rd Air Force Fighter Wing.
This is a full time, long term Contract with a performance period of one Base year
Four (4) Option Years.
The Optimizing Human Weapon System, OHWS initiative is designed to improve quality of life and readiness by decreasing injury rates, most notably for the high rate of spine injuries incurred by fighter pilots.
OHWS is designed to meet the unique physical needs of fighter jet pilots.
Fitness and conditioning are accomplished through a comprehensive, coordinated, multi-disciplinary physical training program focused on the movement and strengthening of the spinal musculoskeletal system.
Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Strength and Conditioning Specialists shall be physically proficient to demonstrate all prescribed exercises/techniques and be able to lift and manipulate loads and plates up to 25 kilograms.
Preference will be given to professionals who can demonstrate experience working with elite athletes or military members in spine specific systems.
Preferred experience may include working with Fighter Pilots or Special Operation Forces (SOF) specific performance programs and developing sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with elite athletes (i.
e.
Division I collegiate, Olympic, professional level athletes, or military combat professionals).
Clinical Requirements:
Physical Therapists Current Licensed Physical Therapists by a state sponsored Physical Therapy Association Degree from an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) accredited institution specifically for Physical Therapy Experience working with professional and/or collegiate athlets or equivalent.
Minimum of four (4) years clinical expereince is desired.
Current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
Preferred NSCA or USAWA certification for strength and conditioning.
Preferred Spine focused clinical work with the capability of soft tissue manipulation.
Experience working with combat related injuries and fighter aircrew is strongly preferred.
Athletic Trainers Current Licensed Athletic Trainer by a state sponsored association by the OATA process Current Athletic Trainer (AT) Certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Degree from a NATA accredited institution specifically for Athletic Trainer Minimum of four (4) years of clinical experience desired.
The Athletic Trainer must have experience working working with professional and/or collegiate athletes Preferred Spine focused clinical work Current certification in basic CPR to include AED training.
Preferred NSCA or USAWA certification for strength and conditioning.
Strength and Conditioning Specialist Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education-related discipline.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience is desired.
The Candidate shall possess and maintain current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Maintenance of this certification shall be an enduring element of the requirement.
Demonstrated sustained experience working with elite athlete populations is highly desired.
Creditable specialized experience includes developing long and short- range planning and coordination of sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with elite athletes.
Experience working with elite athletes - Division I Collegiate, Olympic, professional level athletes or SOF - specific tactical professional.
Candidate must be able to lift and manipulate loads and plates up to 25 kilogram Services provided shall include the following:
Initial assessment of each aircrew, care for aircrew who individually seek the services of OHWS specialist.
Subject matter expertise concerning pre-habilitation evaluation/assessment, injury prevention, accommodation processes & implementation, ergonomic assessment & implementation, remedial training, optimized performance physical training (e.
g.
strength and conditioning for fighter aircrew), & post-flight treatments.
Schedule:
Normal duty hours for rated pilots are between the hours of 0700-1600 Hours Monday-Friday.
Some hours can vary depending on flight schedules requiring evenings and nights.
