General Position Summary Performs a variety of moderately complex and varied legal secretarial support functions for the Juvenile Department.
Must pass a background and financial check prior to offer of employment.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education, Certification, & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Three year's clerical experience Some legal secretarial experience preferred.
Oregon Notary Public License or ability to obtain license within (90) days of employment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of JJS Human Resource systems; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The pay range listed here reflects the FULL pay range for this position for the current fiscal year.
Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.
