Clinical Programs Supervisor (RN) POSITION
Summary:
Responsible for the creation, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of clinical development programs.
This includes the launch of new frameworks and strategies that will result in long-term relationships with new clinical employees and potential new hires tailored to Sky Lakes Medical Center's needs, culture, and overall business goals.
Builds and maintains internal career development programs, external partner programs with educational institutions and other medical systems.
Acts as the supervisor and educator for students in direct (ETL - earn to learn) and joint educational and development programs, trains and coaches into professional practice.
Reports to the Director of Sky Lakes Physician Services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with management to identify departmental needs related to the current process for attracting and retaining employees.
Consult with the management team and applicable Human Resources dept staff to design strategies to fill critical positions, incorporating quality improvement and customer service principles into each strategy.
Develop /design education and training programs to both current and future employees to promote retention and a pipeline for future employment.
In partnership with HR and clinical departments, launch and expand ETL (earn to learn) clinical programs.
Target areas include (but are not limited to):
Clinic RN/LPN, PAR Training program.
MA Apprentice or MA Training program.
Act as mentor and supervisor for cohorts in these programs.
Responsible for hiring and managing float pool staff including supervision, evaluations and scheduling.
Serve as leader and primary liaison in the community in collaboration with Public Relations in designing, coordinating, and evaluating a marketing plan to promote Sky Lakes Medical Center as an employer of choice.
Work with local high-schools, universities, and colleges to bring awareness about Sky Lakes employment opportunities.
Partner to expand high-school programs that create bridges to clinical pathways.
Oversee and coordinate activities that involve new and potential hires to ensure that optimal service is provided to applicants in our targeted clinical development programs.
Take a hands-on approach to develop and nurture candidates throughout their journey to being hired.
Help students with various certs in SL ETL programs transition to practice.
Coordinates program for testing and proctoring for current staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of core principles of adult learning and ability to incorporate them into own practice.
Participates in Sky Lakes Medical Center education, learning and development committees as appropriate and assigned.
Maintains clinical competence to act as an educator and mentor for assigned programs.
Keeps all staff and patient information confidential.
Consistently demonstrates a professional, self-directed approach to practice.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
BSN or related bachelor's level degree in combination with current OR nursing license.
A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Handles stressful situations in a calm and objective manner.
Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring clinical staff as a charge nurse, project leader, clinical instructor, supervisor, lead, or other related experience in a clinical leadership capacity.
Ability to form harmonious relationships with other healthcare team members and strategic partners in the community to accomplish team goals.
3
years nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
Lic/Reg/Cert:
Registered Nurse License PREFERRED:
Master's degree in nursing, education, or related field AND current OR nurse license.
Additional preference for exposure or experience to clinic care settings.
Previous experience providing education in a group/classroom setting.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be in good general health, be able to frequently stoop, bend, and reach.
Must be able to withstand constant walking, standing, lifting at least 50 pounds or more, push/pull regulation hospital/clinic equipment, occasional sitting.
Must be able to function under periods of stress, trauma and/or disease.
Must be able to work independently and effectively with teams.
Ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
